Black and white text interface

The app is very good, really performs well, but the black and white text interface is soo old-school, come on, its 2016, where is VR and 3D?

Super SSH Client. Mosh-Support wäre noch ein Traum :)

So good!

Well designed and works like a charm! Im super happy with the app

Best Out There

Really solid product. If you ever do anything with a terminal, download this. Handy for all sorts of small use cases too. I often connect to my Mac to download a big file for later reference.

Best SSH app; needs minor touch up!

I really like this SSH app. It tries to do only the necessities and I think it overall does that very well. I have several suggestions that Im certain others also have: 1. The color themes are very low contrast compared to what Id prefer. Just try weechat with either of the dark themes - the channel name on the bottom bar is not very readable. On my own computer I used Gnome Terminals tango color scheme. 2. Prompt 2 hides the onscreen keyboard on app switch, then shows the onscreen keyboard upon return to Prompt 2. When using curses apps this triggers multiple resizes, effectively making the SSH session unusable for a few seconds upon switching back to Prompt 2. This behavior is much more obvious when using tmux over a slow connection. 3. The top bar is always visible when in landscape mode on the iPhone 6+, halving the total possible vertical height thought possible. 4. Maybe I missed something, but for some weird reason Prompt 2 insists on running bash on login, which is completely irresponsible since SSH is used outside of UNIX-likes; not to mention not everybody uses bash on UNIX-likes. Cant Prompt 2 simply default to allowing the login shell to run?

The best!

If you do any command line work, Prompt is the best!

Best SSH client

Excellent SSH client. If you need one, just get this one.

Best SSH client for iOS

This is the only ssh client with polish and an amazing feature set to match.

Great SSH terminal emulator

This is my current favorite SSH client for iOS. Great design and good functionality. Great enhancement in recent updates that allow selecting a font size from 7-24pt instead of being limited to just Small / Medium / Large. Plus, no more issues running `top`. Yay. Its nice that you can export the private key for generated keys. Its always good to not feel "locked in", especially for something like SSH keys. To sync devices, Panic does make you sign up for their own "Panic Sync" service instead of just using the iCloud Drive everybody already has. Id like to at least see iCloud as an option. Finally, Id like to see support for port forwarding in a future release, especially if Panic can figure out some way to keep the session active while in the background...

why is it the best among iOS ssh clients?

I have been using several ssh clients on iPads and iPhones. Frankly speaking, Serverauditor is the fastest one IMO, Web SSHs UI is quite comparable with Prompt 2s. But Prompt 2 fulfills both aspects. Its fast and has beautiful UI. Above everything, the only reason I chose Prompt 2 is because it provides panic palette. I really like to have Solarized palette though.

Most advanced SSH client

Ive tried serverauditor and reflections and while good, this is the most feature complete. If you want a customizable, elagant ssh client this is it. It fits nicely into the panic suite of tools.

Amazing app, and amazing developers.

Make no mistake, Prompt is a great ssh app, the best I’ve used on iOS. It makes logging into *nix servers very pleasant on iPhones and iPads, and takes full advantage of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus screens, which is great. In the past, I wrote in my review of this app that I was annoyed about their decision to require users to purchase a new app version. But I have to say, the purchase has been absolutely worth it, and my view has absolutely changed. I made a feature request for this app, and the support team worked on a very personal level with me to ensure that feature worked, and even allowed me to test out the changes via a beta release. Thats bar none, the best Ive ever gotten from an iOS developer that absolutely deserves support. If you want an ssh app that is actively developed by programmers who care about their product, this is it!

Powerful terminal, straight from your phone

Panic writes some of the most well thought-out and charismatic software available, and Prompt is no different. The idea that I can pull out my phone to manage a web server from anywhere is bonkers. Combine that with great features like TouchID, and there isnt a better tool than Prompt.

Very good SSH client

Things I like: 1. Easy to use 2. Split screen and ipad pro support 3. Multi-tab support for easy multi-session access Things I would like to see added: 1. Xwin support 2. Split window/tab support within the app 3. Assignable shortcut keys for saved sessions

2-factor auth broken/fixed/broken/fixed (for now)

Server requires key and then also prompts for a password, keeps getting broken. Is thankfully working again. Lets hope it sticks this time. Raising rating back up, if it lasts Ill kick it up to 4-star. Thanks to Prompt team. Im in SW dev also so I understand how it goes - but when I cannot login to production its a big problem for me. Hope you have added a 2-auth test case to release testing :)

Best SSH app

I use this to connect to my Linux server on campus daily without a hitch. Cant recommend this enough.

Worth the money

This app is definitely worth the money. I bought this as a test to see whether this was a good app to use for managing my servers. I do not regret the decision at all. The app is designed beautifully while also maintaining the functionality we all know and love.

Love it

Use it all the time with multiple servers. Touch ID and key based auth with sync across devices rocks.

Best ssh client on IOS out there

Ive used several, and prompt has stayed as my go-to access client for ssh access. Key syncing made is possible to keep my iOS devices updated as I chose, and the keyboard extensions are perfect for remote editing needs. Bravo and thank you

Reliable and Thoughtful

Really great app. Im a happy ssher.
